The tablet market grew by 20% thanks to Apple, but at the end of 2022 there will be another decline

DigiTimes Asia has published a report on the tablet market in the third quarter of 2022.

Here's What We Know

Worldwide tablet shipments reached 38.4 million units from July to September inclusive, a 20% year-over-year increase. In doing so, the two companies control 60% of the market. As you might have guessed, they are Apple and Samsung. The Top 5 are added by Amazon, Lenovo and Huawei. The total share of the five manufacturers is 80%.

Apple was able to increase its share to 38.2%. Samsung controls about 22%. The South Korean giant was helped by its Galaxy A line of tablets. Amazon is 1% ahead of Lenovo due to the popularity of models with 8" and 10" displays.

According to forecasts, in the fourth quarter of 2022 Apple will be able to increase the supply of tablets by 7% compared to the third quarter due to increased demand for the next generation iPad. Despite this, due to inflation, the crisis and rising interest rates total shipments of tablets will fall by 9% compared to July-September period.
