According to Windows Central, Microsoft is developing a budget laptop Surface, which will run the new Windows 11 SE operating system.

What we know

According to the leak, the device goes by the codename Tenjin. The gadget will be designed for educational purposes. It will compete with Chromebooks. The same goes for the OS Windows 11 SE. It will be a lightweight version of the regular system and will compete with Chrome OS.

The laptop is attributed an 11.6-inch display with a picture resolution of 1366×768 pixels. The device will also get an Intel Celeron N4120 processor and 8GB of RAM. There will be one USB Type-A, one USB Type-C and a headphone jack.

Price and when to expect

Exact release date of the new laptop and the new OS is not yet available, but rumor has it that the release will take place before the end of this year. The laptop will cost less than $549.
