The president of Chinese company NetEase is unhappy with the termination of the contract with Activision Blizzard and called Bobby Kotick a "jerk"

Recently it became known about the breakdown of multi-year partnership between Activision Blizzard and the Chinese company NetEase. As a result, Chinese gamers will lose access to all Blizzard's games, except for mobile Diablo Immortal, since January 23, 2023.

This event was commented by both sides. But if Activision Blizzard got away with generalities, then the head of NetEase Games global investment and partnerships Simon Zhu expressed quite sharply. On LinkedIn, he wrote:

Someday it will be possible to talk about what went on behind the scenes. Then developers and gamers will come to a whole new level of understanding of the damage a jerk can do.

By "jerk", of course, Simon Ju meant his American colleague Bobby Kotick, at least that's how the source of the Chinese news portal Popular Cybersport deciphered the statement.

It is reported that Kotick personally led the negotiating team and put forward unacceptable conditions for the Chinese side.

Stumbling blocks were not only financial issues, but also aspects relating to copyright and, importantly, control of personal data of all players in the region.
