Apple releases iOS 16.4: what's new and when to expect the firmware

Apple, after two months of testing, has announced a stable version of iOS 16.4 for iPhone users.

What's New About It?

The update weighs around 2GB and contains many small but useful changes. For instance, support for notifications from websites has been added to the system. This will work if you add the website as a web app to your iPhone desktop.

The developers have also installed new emoji, slightly updated the Podcasts app, changed the look of the Coverage section and added Voice Isolation for voice calls. It prioritises your voice and blocks out ambient noise.

Additionally, Apple has optimized Crash Detection for iPhone 14 users and patched over 30 software vulnerabilities.

When We Can Expect It

The update is rolling out in waves to all supported iPhone models. You can check for OTAs in your smartphone's settings.
