Guy Ritchie's spy blockbuster, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, starring Henry Cavill, has finally got a release date

Guy Ritchie's action project, in which "The Witcher" star Henry Cavill leads an ensemble cast, is set to hit big screens in the spring.

Here's What We Know

The film is based on the 2014 book Churchill's Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWII by Damien Lewis. In addition to Cavill, the film will star such notable actors as Eiza González of "Ambulance," Henry Golding of "The Gentlemen" and Alan Ritchson of "Reacher."

Lionsgate has scheduled the premiere for 19 April 2024.

The new release date puts "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" in competition with "Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver," which will get a limited release, horror film "Abigail" and the "Civil War" film from A24 and Alex Garland.

Henry Cavill shared the news that filming of 'The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare' has finished on Instagram and revealed his sadness about it.

"That's a wrap! My days on Ungentlemanly Warfare are over. Tis a sad day" Cavill captioned the video, which shows the actor appearing as a military hero with a gorgeous moustache. "I'm going to echo the sentiments of my co-stars and sing the praises of our intrepid crew. It's rare to come across a team so driven, dedicated and committed to the storytelling. That drive and dedication is only intensified by having a leader such as Guy Ritchie. His ability to weave story and create character might be second to none, and he wields it like it were magic."

Here's What The Movie Is About

Inspired by true events, the plot of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will follow the strategies of Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and James Bond creator and writer Ian Fleming. Their actions during World War II, based on unconventional and completely "unconventional" methods of fighting the Nazis, helped change the course of the war and partially laid the groundwork for the modern "Black Ops" instalments.
