Microsoft launches updated web version of Microsoft Store

Microsoft has launched an updated web version of its Windows Store. It was created to replace the previous way of searching for Windows apps on the Internet, when a link from a website would open in the Store client.

Here's What We Know

The software giant has decided to abandon React, which was used in the previous Microsoft Store web store, and replaced it with a modern web version that uses Shoelace, Lit, Vite technologies and the C# ASPNET server.

"The old site was a React codebase built on an obsoleted UI framework. We created a fresh user experience with a thoughtfully designed interface, easier ways to discover new apps, modern web tech stack. I hope folks will find it useful"

The updated web store makes it easier to find Windows apps and games that can be downloaded through the main Microsoft Store for Windows app. However, it is worth noting that it will not replace the main Microsoft Store app.
