Amid the TikTok shutdown, Apple has released a statement and support document listing all affected apps unavailable in the US. The iPhone maker doesn't usually publish information about app blocking, but this time it said it was removing developer ByteDance's apps from its App Store due to a related law that went into effect.
On Saturday evening, 18 January, the TikTok app stopped working and was removed from the App Store and Google Play, just hours before the ban took effect on 19 January. Users who had previously installed the app are now seeing a pop-up window with the message: "Sorry, TikTok is currently unavailable".
