The American semiconductor manufacturer Texas Instruments (TI) announced the closure of one of its oldest plants — LFAB in Dallas, Texas. The facility will cease operations by 2027, after more than 40 years in operation.
The JEDEC organization, which is responsible for the standardization of semiconductor technologies, has published a teaser for the new generation of flash memory — UFS 5.0 (Universal Flash Storage), which will replace UFS 4.0/4.1. Compared to its predecessor, the data transfer speed will increase by 1.86 times.
