With iOS 16 beta, Apple is adding the capability to "unsend" messages for the first time. WhatsApp already offers a comparable functionality, although it is now releasing an upgrade that allows users to erase messages up to two days after they're sent. The option to remove transmitted communications was announced by WhatsApp on its Twitter profile. Users will now have two days in a private or group conversation to decide whether or not to unsend a message.
