SpaceX sends Starship to the launch pad and prepares for a historic launch on 10 April

It looks like the first orbital flight of the Starship spacecraft is just around the corner. SpaceX has already sent it to its launch pad in Texas.

Here's What We Know

Elon Musk has postponed the date of the spacecraft's orbital flight several times. Recently, the head of SpaceX said that with a probability of 50% the first flight will be a failure. But that will be no big deal.

Officially, the Starship launch date has not yet been made public. However, Ars Technica's sources say that the huge spacecraft with its Super Heavy rocket booster, which together have 39 Raptor engines, will make its first orbital flight on April 10, 2023.

Starship will go through several tests before it lands on the moon in late 2025 as part of the third Artemis mission. A few days after that, the ship will take the astronauts to orbit, where they will transfer to the Orion spacecraft and head home.

Starship, due to insufficient fuel supply, will remain permanently in orbit on the moon. The astronauts will leave their new spacesuits, designed by Axiom Space, on board the spacecraft.
