Volkswagen announced a partnership with OpenAI, the VW cars will get ChatGPT

Volkswagen announced at CES 2024 in Las Vegas a partnership with OpenAI.

Here's What We Know

Thanks to the new partnership, the brand's cars will get support for ChatGPT, an AI-powered chatbot. It will be integrated into IDA's proprietary voice assistant.

ChatGPT will be available in the ID.7, ID.4, ID.5, ID.3 electric cars in the second quarter of 2024. The new Tiguan, Passat and Golf models will also get it. Users in Europe will get the innovation first. As for drivers in the U.S., they will have to wait. Volkswagen said that the feature is still under review and undergoing internal approvals for this market.

Incidentally, Volkswagen is not the first automaker to integrate AI bots into its cars. In June 2023, Mercedes-Benz announced that the brand's cars with the MBUX entertainment system will get ChatGPT.
