Russian air defence liquidated the Raefly VT260 on Russian territory itself. As it turned out, there was a friendly fire.

Here's What We Know

The incident took place in Belgorod region, which neighbours Ukraine. Russians mistook a Raefly VT260 for a Ukrainian aerial drone that had invaded the country.

Local media later reported that the Raefly VT260 belonged to Russia's federal security service. It is worth between ₽800,000 and ₽2 million, which is about $25,000.

The military has been reprimanded instead of rewarded for destroying an enemy drone. Moreover, the federal security service is claiming damages of ₽3 million ($38,000).
