Aihimi AHM-1X drone, which can carry 70mm rockets and fly at 140km/h, unveiled

We previously reported that Greek company SAS Technology unveiled the Talos II drone at DEFEA 2023 in Athens. Another new product is called the Aihimi AHM-1X. The French company Thales took part in its creation.

Here's What We Know

The Aihimi AHM-1X is an electric-powered drone with a twin-bladed pusher propeller. A 70mm (2.75") rocket can be integrated into the drone body.

The drone has a wingspan of almost 2 metres. The system is 1.82 metres long. The wings are folded along the fuselage before launch and unfold after launch. The body of the drone is made of carbon fibre.

The battery allows the Aihimi AHM-1X to fly for 15 minutes at speeds of up to 140 km/h. The drone can then glide for 13-15 minutes. When launched from an altitude of 2,000 metres, the drone can cover a total of 26-30 km. The company is also promising a version with a range of 45 km, which will glide for another 15 km.

The manufacturer is now conducting flight tests of the drone. After their completion, Thales and SAS Technology will move on to firing tests.

It is worth noting that the Aihimi AHM-1X could become a weapon for another drone. Specifically, for the announced Talos II, as shown in the image above, or for the SRS-1A Sarisa, which can carry payloads of up to 25kg.
