On the night of 17 September 2023, unknown drones attacked the Russian Federation again. One drone was shot down, but that didn't stop it from hitting an oil depot.

Here's What We Know

Russian propagandists reported that the drones first flew at Moscow, but they managed to shoot them down. At the same time, the authorities in the Russian capital decided to close the airports.

The drones flew towards Moscow in waves. A few hours later, Russian authorities announced the interception of several more drones within Moscow and neighbouring regions. In particular, in the Iulska region, a drone fell near a workshop where Chinese Haval cars are assembled.

By morning, one UAV had been shot down in the Orel region. Despite claims of an interception, the drone went down and hit an oil depot in the city of Oryol. It is reported that the explosion occurred in a tank with fuel and lubricants.
