It's official: the U.S. will transfer four more M142 HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems to Ukraine

Today we wrote that the U.S. will announce this week the transfer of multiple launch rocket systems M142 HIMARS to Ukraine. Announced.

What we know

United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, announced that four more MLRS M142 HIMARS will be going to Ukraine. About the transfer of missiles ATACMS, which can hit the targets at the distance up to 300 km, the Pentagon chief said nothing.

This brings the total number of multiple rocket launchers sent to Ukraine HIMARS to 16. Also, the new military aid package will include additional 155mm rockets and shells for artillery. Details are expected in the near future.

Recall that at the beginning of July Ukraine had eight MLRSs M142 HIMARS. After the NATO summit the U.S. announced the transfer of four more rocket systems. The Armed Forces also received three M270 MLRS. At the same time Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that 100 M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS areneeded for a full and effective counterattack.
