Ukrainian Armed Forces use American International MaxxPro armored personnel carriers, deliveries of which have not been announced

An American wheeled armored personnel carrier International MaxxProhas been spotted on the front.

What we know

The model was developed in 2007 by Navistar International. Production of the vehicle began at the same time. International MaxxPro was created as a replacement for HMMWV and was used during the war in Iraq.

The development of the armored vehicle was carried out under the program Mine Resistant Ambush Protected. The U.S. was trying to quickly create a mine-resistant vehicle. Statistics show that nearly two-thirds of U.S. soldiers killed and wounded in the war in Iraq were casualties from improvised explosives.

The International MaxxPro is equipped with a 330 hp engine. A compartment for six soldiers is installed on the chassis. The armored personnel carrier can protect the crew in case of hitting mines up to 7 kg TNT equivalent.

Note that neither the United States nor Ukraine have reported deliveries of International MaxxPro.
