Slovakia plans to transfer Soviet-made infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine.
Here's What We Know
We are talking about 30 BMP-1s. This was said by the Slovak Minister of Defense Jaroslav Nad during the signing of an agreement with Germany for the supply of 15 Leopard 2A4 tanks. The infantry fighting vehicles will be transferred to us from the mobilization reserves. That is, these BMPs were no longer used by the Armed Forces of Slovakia.
RBMP-1 is a Soviet armored tracked fighting vehicle. It can float and is intended to carry and support one motorized rifle squad. BMP-1 accommodates 11 people: 3 crew members (mechanic-driver, gunner-operator and commander of the fighting vehicle) and 8 troopers.
