The Armed Forces of Ukraine for the first time showed the French Lance-roquettes unitaire (LRU) multiple rocket launcher system at the front.

Here's What We Know

France sent two multiple rocket launchers to Ukraine in late fall. They accompanied nearly three dozen M142 HIMARS, M270 MLRS and MARS II. A photo of the LRU was posted on Facebook by military officer Alexei Kashporovsky.

The LRU is a modification of the American M270 MLRS system. It has two containers and can simultaneously launch 12 GMLRS rockets with a range of about 80 km. In total, France has upgraded 13 missile systems.

The LRU has an upgraded fire control system on board. The upgrades also include reinforced armor along with the use of a new communications system and a new navigation system.
