Ukraine gets Wisent 1 MC armoured mine-clearing vehicles from Germany

Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft (FFG) and Pearson Engineering have announced that they have received an order for Wisent 1 MC armoured vehicles for Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

The Wisent 1 MC is an armoured vehicle designed to break through minefields. They are equipped with a full-size mine blade from Pearson Engineering, high ballistic protection and mine protection that provide the best possible safety for the crew. In addition, the vehicle has a modified Leopard 1 tank hull with the turret removed.

This vehicle was ordered by the German government as part of its military assistance to Ukraine. Deliveries are planned to be completed by the end of 2023.

The companies did not specify exactly how many armoured vehicles Ukraine will receive. However, the website of the German government lists "42 tanks for mine clearance" as future aid to Ukraine.
