Ukrainian artillerymen release spectacular video of the destruction of Russia's latest Buk-M3 SAM system

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed the Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system. The video was published on the country of the 44th Detached Artillery Brigade named after Hetman Daniel Apostol.

Here's What We Know

The footage from the video shows that the Russian military tried to hide the anti-aircraft missile system near a forest belt. However, this did not prevent a Ukrainian drone from detecting it. In addition to the Buk-M3, the artillerymen hit ammunition depots.

Flashback

Buk-M3 is the latest Russian anti-aircraft missile system. It was adopted into service in 2016. The SAM is used to provide protection against manoeuvring aerial targets, but can also be used to strike ground targets.

The surface-to-air missile system can engage airborne objects flying at speeds of up to 3km/s. The maximum intercept altitude is 5-35km and the range is 2.5-70km.
