The Ukrainian Armed Forces have managed to destroy Russia's new T-62M 2022 tank. This is reported by the Dutch OSINT project Oryx.

Here's What We Know

Where exactly the upgraded tank was destroyed is not yet specified. There is also no information on what weapons the Ukrainian Defence Forces used. However, Russian media claim that the T-62M r2022 can withstand Javelin missiles.

T-62 tanks are being upgraded at the 103rd Armoured Vehicle Repair Plant located in the urban village of Atamanovka in the Trans-Baikal Territory. The combat vehicles have been upgraded with modern thermal imagers, laser range-finders, additional modules for multi-layer armouring of the hull, dynamic protection Contact and anti-missile shields.

The T-62M fr 2022 has an upgraded fire control system which should increase the effectiveness of the 2A20 (U-5TS) "Molot" 115 mm cannon. After the upgrade, it can fire guided long-range missiles.
