A Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and cannon system has been standing on the roof of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation in Moscow for several months. The day before, it failed to destroy a nearby flying drone.

Here's What We Know

On the morning of 24 July, Moscow was attacked by drones. One of the drones exploded near the building of the Russian Ministry of Defence, on the roof of which the Pantsir-S1 has been standing since the end of 2022.

The wreckage of the drone was found on Komsomolsky Prospekt 300 metres from the defence building. Journalists from the Russian service of Radio Liberty noted the absence of any signs of Pantsir-S1 operation. Perhaps the anti-aircraft missile and cannon system is too high and cannot fire downwards.
