The People's Liberation Army of China, as planned, unveiled the YU-20 air tanker at the new Changchun Air Show. Earlier it appeared as Y-20U.
Here's What We Know
The YU-20 is equipped with two refueling pods on either side of its wings. Last week, a photo surfaced on the Web showing the YU-20 in flight refueling J-20 and J-16 fighters.
The YU-20 is a modification of the Y20 transport aircraft. Its tanks hold more than 100 tons of fuel, 50% of which can be used to refuel other aircraft. In addition, the new aircraft can be used to transport cargo and personnel.
