BAE Systems considers launching production of the M777 howitzer in India

India may begin production of the 155mm M777 artillery with a 52-caliber barrel.

Here's What We Know

BAE Systems has agreed with PTC Industries to produce titanium castings for 155mm M777 artillery systems. The deal between the two companies does not rule out the possibility of making identical parts for India itself.

BAE Systems has a range of 155mm guns with 52-gauge barrels. The company may start production of such howitzers in India. This would make India the first buyer of the M777 with a 52 caliber barrel and a weight of up to 5,800 kg.
