The Netherlands wants to allocate €1 billion for the purchase of highly mobile missile systems M142 HIMARS or K239 Chunmoo

Next year, the Netherlands wants to provide its army with multiple launch rocket systems with a launch range of 70 kilometers. The authorities are considering two options.

Here's What We Know

In the mid-'0s the Netherlands sold two dozen M270 MLRS multiple launch rocket systems to Finland. Since then the Kingdom has had no guided missiles. The Netherlands wants to solve the problem by the end of next year.

The government intends to allocate €1 billion for the purchase of M142 HIMARS highly mobile artillery rocket systems. In case of failure the Netherlands is considering the purchase of South Korean K239 Chunmoo multiple rocket launchers.

Now the most long-range weapons of the Dutch Army are Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery systems. The military has 18 howitzers and has nearly four dozen more in storage.
