Switzerland will buy 72 missiles for Patriot PAC 3 for $700 million

Switzerland is close to purchasing missiles for the Patriot PAC 3 air defense system.

Here's What We Know

Along with the F-35 Lightning II fifth-generation fighter jets, Switzerland has decided to purchase Patriot PAC 3 surface-to-air missile systems from the US to replace Bodluv air defense systems. The European country's authorities asked the U.S. to purchase the missiles. The potential deal was successfully approved by the State Department.

This was reported by the Agency for Security and Defense Cooperation (DSCA). The contract for the supply of 72 missiles for the Patriot PAC 3, training missiles, consumables and related equipment will cost $700 million.

The US company Lockheed Martin will be the general contractor. The term of contract is 5 years.
