Airbus is confident that Spain will continue to buy Eurofighter Typhoon fighters to replace EF-18 Hornet

European concern Airbus is full of confidence that the Spanish Air Force in the near future will sign a new contract for the purchase of Eurofighter Typhoon.

Here's What We Know

The Spanish Air Force has 70 Eurofighter Typhoons in service at the Trance 1, 2 and 3 levels. As part of the Project Halcon program Madrid will receive 20 Trance 4 fighters. At the same time, to abandon the Boeing EF-18 Hornet, Spain will need another 60 new planes under the condition of replacement 1 to 1.

It is now expected to purchase Eurofighter Typhoon fighters Tranche 4 or Tranche 5. We are talking about a new batch in addition to the 20 aircraft ordered under Project Halcon in June 2022. This was announced by Jean-Brice Dumont, head of Military Air Systems at Airbus.
