$1,200,000,000 contract: Norway buys US Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk helicopters to replace the NH90

The Norwegian government has selected a new naval helicopter for its armed forces.

Here's What We Know

We are talking about six American Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk helicopters. The Norwegian Defence Minister Bjørn Arild Gram made the announcement. The contract is worth an estimated $1 200 000 000. Deliveries of the helicopters will begin in 2025 and continue until 2027. By the way, the Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk will replace the NH90 multirole helicopters in the Norwegian Armed Forces.

The Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk is an American multirole helicopter. It was developed based on the UH-60 under a US Navy competition programme for operation from warships. The helicopter made its maiden flight in 1979. In 1984 it was adopted by the US Navy. The helicopter is available in various modifications and costs approximately $28,000,000.
