US sends B-1B Lancer supersonic strategic bomber group to Europe to support NATO allies

The US Air Force is sending four B-1B Lancer strategic bombers to Europe. Two of the planes have already arrived in the UK.

Here's What We Know

The US has decided to send four supersonic aircraft to support NATO allies in Europe. The reaction of the Russian federation was not long in coming. Two US bombers were met by a Su-27 fighter in the Baltic Sea region.

The B-1B Lancer landed at the UK Royal Air Force base Fairford. They will be joined by two more aircraft for the bomber task force mission. They will arrive in the region tomorrow, May 25.

The US is moving supersonic aircraft from the 7th Bomber Wing, whose home base is Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, to Europe. The 12-hour flight from North America to Europe demonstrates the US Air Force's ability to quickly deploy anywhere, anytime.
