Germany will move Patriot anti-aircraft missiles from Slovakia to Lithuania to defend the NATO summit

Germany is preparing to transfer MIM-104 Patriot air defence systems to Lithuania. It is about the anti-aircraft missile systems that are now in Slovakia.

Here's What We Know

German MIM-104 Patriot air defence systems will be deployed to protect the Lithuanian air space during the NATO summit in July this year. This was announced the day before by German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.

Germany will provide ground, air and naval assets to ensure the security of the NATO leaders' meeting in Vilnius on July 11-12, 2023. A request to this effect has been made by the leadership of the North Atlantic alliance.

The MIM-104 Patriot surface-to-air missile systems will no longer return to Slovakia. Meanwhile, Germany will support the NATO ally by providing additional radars and offering air force support for airspace protection.
