US announces unmanned launcher for Tomahawk missiles based on NMESIS system

The United States has unveiled the first ground-based installation for long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles.

Here's What We Know

Photos of the installation was shared by the visual information dissemination service of the US Department of Defence. The installation was made on the basis of the NMESIS complex. Instead of two NSM missiles, the new system has one container for a large Tomahawk missile with a length of 7 metres. The chassis is a modified JLTV off-road vehicle with 4x4 wheel arrangement. The launcher is remotely controlled. Unfortunately, the characteristics of the new system are not yet available.

By the way, the first battery of Tomahawk launchers has already joined the 11th Marine Regiment. The ceremony took place on 21 July. Thanks to the new system, the Marines will be able to better control the sea space and strike targets at long distances.
