$683,000,000: Sweden announces largest military aid package ever for Ukraine
Swedish Defence Minister Pål Jonson has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine.
Here's What We Know
We are talking about weapons worth $683,000,000. This is the largest aid package Sweden will give since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It will include:
- RBS70 portable surface-to-air missile systems;
- Artillery ammunition;
- 20 landing boats;
- 10 Stridsbåt 90 class amphibious assault boats;
- TOW anti-tank missiles;
- Carl Gustaf grenade launchers;
- Medical equipment.
Today Sweden announced the largest support package to Ukraine yet. Package 15 will be worth 7.1 billion SEK (~$683 mln), bringing ???????? combined value of military assistance to Ukraine to 30 billion SEK. (~$2.9 bln). In addition, Sweden will also donate $96,000,000 to a joint fund with Denmark. The countries will be involved in the procurement of CV90 infantry fighting vehicles for Ukraine.
