Google is preparing to release a new Chromecast with a Google TV interface on board

By information 9to5Google edition, Google is preparing to release a new Chromecast TV box.

What is known

Device information was noticed in the application code Google. The novelty is codenamed Boreal. The device will be running the Android operating system with a Google TV interface on board. In addition, the gadget is credited with supporting hardware decoding for the AV1 format. The current version of Chromecast with Google TV does not have it.

Unfortunately, the leak does not reveal the characteristics of the device, but it can be assumed that the gadget will receive support for 4K content, as well as improved hardware.

The release of the device should take place this year. Perhaps the new product will be announced along with Pixel 6a and Pixel Watch in May.
