The Uncharted movie grossed $44 million and became the fourth-largest video game movie in US history.

Sony's Uncharted was released last weekend in the US and did very well at the box office, becoming the fourth highest-grossing video game film of all time.

Uncharted earned $44 million from Friday to Sunday and $51 million from its four-day long weekend. It marks the fourth-highest debut for a film based on a video game in the US, behind Tomb Raider ($47 million), Detective Pikachu ($54 million) and Sonic ($58 million).

The Uncharted movie didn't impress critics, but it fared much better for fans, according to Rotten Tomatoes ratings of 90% positive reviews. The strong positive reaction from fans suggests that the box office may remain strong.
