In a Time magazine poll, readers voted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the most influential person of the year.

#1

So, more than 3.3 million Time readers voted for Zelensky, which is 5% of respondents.

“When Russian forces launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February, Zelensky, a comedian with no political experience before being elected president of Ukraine in 2019, stepped onto the world stage and rallied leaders to support Ukraine,” the Time article says.

In second place is Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk with 3.5% of the vote. By the way, last year he was named Time magazine's Person of the Year 2021 for his "impact on life on Earth and possibly life beyond Earth."

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson came in third with 3.4% of the vote. It is followed by medical workers who continue the fight against COVID-19. US President Joe Biden closes the top five with 3.1% of the vote.

The 2022 Time100 list, which will be selected by Time editors, will be made public on May 23.
