Monobank from August will start selling currency to the public almost at the official rate and without commission, but on one condition

Clients of Monobank next week will be able to buy cashless currency. However, there is one nuance that may not please everyone.

What is known

The National Bank of Ukraine allowed banks to sell foreign currency to the population under the condition of placing it on deposit without the possibility of canceling the contract within three months. Such an option will appear in Monobank next week. This was reported in his official Telegram channel by Oleg Gorokhovsky, co-founder of Monobank.

According to Gorokhovsky, the bank's clients will be able to buy currency at the rate in the application without additional commissions. At the time of writing, $1 is worth ₴36.65 / ₴37.03 and €1 is ₴37.35 / ₴37.75. The official rate of the NBU is ₴36.56 and ₴36.99, respectively.

Recall that the National Bank introduced a ban on the sale of foreign currency to the population since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia. A few months later, the regulator allowed to sell cash currency in branches, and since July 21 Ukrainians can buy currency for ₴50,000, as noted, subject to placement on a three-month deposit without the possibility of early termination.
