The Bayraktar Kizilelma jet UAV with a Ukrainian engine made its maiden flight

Bayraktar continues to test the Kizilelma UAV. This time the novelty made its first flight.

The information was shared by the company's press service. Bayraktar also recently tested the UAV's taxiing, braking system, fuel system and the drone's engine.

Flashback

Kizilelma is Bayraktar's first jet UAV. The drone is equipped with Ukrainian AI-322F and AI-25TLT engines. There will also be a modification with the Turkish TF-6000 engine. The company plans to produce the drones in Ukraine along with other strike drones: Bayraktar TB2 and Akinci.

Bayraktar Kizilelma will be able to carry a payload of 1500 kg. The maximum flight time will be 5 hours and the range will be 930 km. The maximum altitude is 12 km. The drone is being developed within the MIUS (Muharip İnsansız Uçak Sistemi) program. Modifications with TF-6000 and AI-322F engines will be supersonic, while the variant with AI-25TLT will be able to develop a speed close to supersonic.
