Starship will send a giant FLEX rover to the moon that can transport people

In a few years' time, Astrolab's huge rover will be on the Moon. It is called the Flexible Logistics and Exploration (FLEX).

Here's What We Know

The rover will be delivered to Earth's natural satellite by the Starship spacecraft. FLEX will be able to transport humans and will be the largest rover ever sent to the Moon. Its maximum weight is more than 2 tons. The rover will be able to reach speeds of 24 kilometres per hour.

Astrolab says that FLEX will be able to implement the idea of creating a permanent human presence on Earth. Moreover, the company plans to use the rover even in missions to Mars. Sending the rover to the moon will be fully commercial and will not require government funding, but the cost is not yet specified.

FLEX will be delivered to the moon by SpaceX's spacecraft in 2026. If all goes according to plan, Starship will have already taken part in the Artemis III mission, which involves landing astronauts on the moon.

According to preliminary data, the first orbital flight will take place next week. According to Ars Technica's sources, SpaceX has sent Starship to the launch pad in Texas and is preparing for the April 10 launch.
