From February 26 to March 1, Barcelona will host the largest mobile technologies exhibition Mobile World Congress 2018. Samsung

The main stars of the exhibition this year will be the Korean flagships Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. The diagonal of curved Super AMOLED displays will be the previous 5.8 and 6.2 inches (QHD +, the aspect ratio of 18.5: 9), and the fingerprint scanner on the rear panel moved under the main camera module. Inside, the eight-core Exynos 9810 is Samsung's proprietary development, and in the US and China, models for the Snapdragon 845 will be sold. The standard Galaxy S9 is equipped with 4 GB of operating and 64 GB of internal memory, and the Plus version will have modifications with 6 GB of RAM and a drive for 128 GB.

Another difference between the models - only the Galaxy S9 + will have a dual camera. However, the main module for smartphones is the same: 12 megapixels, a variable aperture f / 1.5 or f / 2.4 and the possibility of slow motion at a rate of 480 frames per second . In a commercial launched on Korean television, the company also focuses on the cameras of smartphones. This is the biggest update compared to the Galaxy S8.

Smartphones will receive stereo speakers, as well as protection from dust and water according to the IP68 standard. To unlock, use the Intelligent Scan function. It combines the speed of face recognition and the reliability of the iris scanner. Together with the Galaxy S9 will be presented docking station Samsung DeX Pad, which turns the device into a kind of computer.

Perhaps at MWC 2018 the company will also show the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, although it is unlikely to help stop the sales of tablets.

LG

In the mobile unit, the companies decided to wait with the launch of the new flagship. Instead of the successor of the G6 in Barcelona, ​​another version of the V30 F30 will be presented - the LG V30s. Motorola

At the previous mobile congress Motorola brought the average Moto G5 and G5 Plus, and this year the announcement of the sixth generation of G-series devices is expected. The updated line consists of three models with full-screen design: Moto G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play. The first images of smartphones appeared in January, and the estimated prices of new products are also known.

As for Moto Z3 / Z3 Play and Moto X5 , the premiere of these smartphones will take place later this year.

Huawei

We already know that the new flagships of Huawei will be presented at a separate event in Paris on March 27. In the teaser for MWC 2018, the Chinese giant hinted at two ultrabook MateBook. Rumors also predict the announcement of the tablet MediaPad M5 , which will include three models with a screen diagonal of 8 to 10 inches.

Sony

Most manufacturers refused to demonstrate their flagships in Barcelona, ​​but Sony did not change the traditions and will bring two devices with top characteristics. Sony Xperia XZ2 will receive a screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9, a Snapdragon 845 processor and 4 GB of RAM. The older Xperia XZ Pro is credited with a 5.7-inch OLED display with 4K resolution. Asus

Taiwanese are preparing to announce an updated line of ZenFone 5 smartphones. The younger Asus ZenFone 5 Lite will get an extended display and two dual cameras, and in the flagship ZenFone 5 the manufacturer copied the cutout of the display from the iPhone X (it's unclear why). The third ZenFone 5 Max with a 5.7-inch display will receive a powerful battery and a dual camera.

Xiaomi

The Chinese company was at the end of our list, because rumors about the imminent announcement of the flagship Xiaomi Mi 7 and the frameless Mi Mix 2s were not confirmed. According to representatives of Xiaomi, there will be no loud announcements on MWC 2018.

Since the manufacturer still participates in the exhibition, in Barcelona they can announce the release of the budgetary Redmi Note 5 Pro (currently only in India) or show the international version of the set-top box Mi Box 4 and Mi Box 4c with Android TV on board.

Who else?

Alcatel will come to the exhibition with a full-screen smartphone Alcatel V3 and a model without frames on three sides of the display - Alcatel 5 .
