LG will soon introduce hybrid "smart" watches on Wear OS

Company LG on May 2 should show its new flagship smartphone LG G7 ThinQ. But except the phone, in the near future the manufacturer will present hybrid "smart" watches on Wear OS.

What is known

Information shared the resource AndroidHeadlines. The watch will get the name LG Watch Timepiece. The report says that they have installed Wear OS and a special mechanism for manually adjusting the Micro Gearbox clock. The operating system is needed to output notifications and monitor physical activities.

LG Watch Timepiece will receive a 1.2-inch LCD display with a resolution of 360 × 360p, 768 MB of RAM, 4 GB of ROM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a processor for wearable Snapdragon 2100 devices. In terms of size, it's something between LG Watch Style and LG Watch Sport ("smart" Google watches, released early last year).

When to expect

According to AndroidHeadlines, the watch will be presented on Monday, April 30th. The novelty will appear in two colors: New Aurora Black and Cloud Silver. The approximate cost is $ 250- $ 350. Sales will not begin until June.

LG will not be the first manufacturer to release this kind of product. The French company Withings (now owned by Nokia) has been producing classic Steel HR watches with "smart" functions for several years. They cost about $ 200. Also, similar products are made by Garmin and Fossil. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how this concept is implemented by LG.
