Kate Middleton admits to photomontaging viral image and apologises

Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, has admitted she edited a viral photo of herself and her children that caused an international uproar after it was removed by some of the world's biggest photo agencies for "manipulation". The Princess of Wales said that, like many photography enthusiasts, she sometimes experiments with editing.

Here's What We Know

Middleton posted a photo of her sitting and smiling with her children George, Charlotte and Louis on social media on Sunday to mark the UK's Mother's Day celebrations. Ironically, the photo appeared to be aimed at reducing the intense speculation surrounding Middleton's absence from public life for nearly two months following her planned abdominal surgery.

Instead of calming public conspiracy theories, Middleton's recent photo has only fuelled them. Online detectives pointed out that Middleton is not wearing her wedding ring in the photo, and her face looks different from the paparazzi photo taken less than a week ago. The scandal only intensified when some of the world's biggest photo agencies removed the image from their publishers and issued a Kill Notification, claiming the photo had been manipulated.

As a result of the incident, Kate Middleton has decided to publicly apologise for any misunderstanding and has asked everyone to be sympathetic.
