The vivo X100 Ultra will feature expensive components from professional cameras

On 13 May, Chinese company Vivo will unveil its new flagship smartphone, the Vivo X100 Ultra. This device has already generated a lot of interest, thanks to leaks about its camera.

Here's What We Know

The Vivo X100 Ultra features a 50-megapixel main camera with Sony LYT-900 sensor, a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera with Vivo's latest AI algorithms and a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL JN1 selfie camera capable of recording 4K videos at 60fps. However, the most prominent feature is the 200-megapixel periscopic zoom camera equipped with the Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor developed in collaboration with Vivo.

Also, judging from the new leak, the telephoto lens is expected to be equipped with fluorite glass, the strongest low-dispersion material in the industry, which promises improved image quality. This glass is commonly used in professional cameras. In addition, the telephoto lens is ZEISS-certified as well as CIPA4.5 professional camera stabilisation, which is groundbreaking for mobile photography. In addition to the impressive camera, the Vivo X100 Ultra is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and offer storage options of up to 1TB.

The expected starting price is around 6,699 yuan (roughly $930). Depending on the storage configuration chosen, the price could go up to 8,499 yuan ($1180). There is no information about global sales of the device yet.
