BYD Han L electric sedan can be charged with two cables at the same time

Chinese media have revealed new details about the BYD Han L battery-electric sedan, which will go on sale in March this year. Featuring a 945-volt architecture, the car will support ultra-fast dual charging with 120kW of power.

Here's What We Know

According to IT Home, dual charging for the BYD Han L is borrowed from the Denza D9 and Denza N7. You can connect two charging guns to the car at the same time. It takes 10 minutes to charge from 16% to 80% and another 14 minutes to charge from 80% to 100%. Even in temperatures as low as -30°C.

In addition to the charging characteristics, more information was revealed about the engine mounted on the rear axle. Its maximum power output reaches 580 kW (788 hp), torque is 450 Nm and rotor speed is up to 30,500 rpm. The Han L in the all-wheel drive version has an additional 230 kW (312 hp) engine at the front. Accordingly, the peak total powertrain output reaches 810 kW (1,101 hp).

BYD officially unveiled the Han L sedan and a related SUV called the Tang L on 17 January. The price has not yet been disclosed, but the company has hinted that the lower threshold will be around 300,000 yuan ($41,000).
