Apex Legends 2.0: Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment are preparing major updates for the game in the future

Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have repeatedly stated that they have no plans for significant changes or a direct sequel to Apex Legends, but recent events suggest otherwise: during EA's latest quarterly call, CEO Andrew Wilson acknowledged the game's huge success, noting that it has more than 200 million players. However, he admitted that its recent trajectory has not met the publisher's expectations.
Here's What We Know
Wilson explained that in the short to medium term, EA intends to continue to support Apex Legends with new content. In addition, the company is considering a more significant update of the game, although it will not be a priority until the next Battlefield instalment, which is expected to be released by April 2026.
He noted that the team is testing various changes to improve the game experience, focusing on three key areas: maintaining and expanding the existing player base with quality of life updates and anti-cheat measures, expanding the game with fresh content, and eventually introducing a major update for a broader game experience.
Wilson suggested that this major update will not coincide with the launch of Battlefield, but will take place at a later date.
Where To Play
Apex Legends is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
