The director of DOOM: The Dark Ages would like to explore a "more medieval" history of the Doom universe

The director of Doom: The Dark Aes, Hugo Matrin, shared his interest in exploring the medieval stories of Doom at some point in the future. He said that the ending of the game does not tie up all loose ends, leaving room for a potential sequel in the same setting.
Here's What We Know
Although he refrained from spoilers, Martin clarified that the game does not end with Doomslayer being put in a coffin, as was suggested in the previous instalments. Instead, the story sets up future possibilities.
Martin explained that the plot includes a building that collapses on the Doomslayer, which leads to his being sealed in a sarcophagus, as it was in DOOM 2016. This suggests the possibility of additional content or a continuation of the saga, similar to DOOM Eternal and its DLC The Ancient Gods.
The medieval setting of DOOM: The Dark Ages allows for darker, more sinister themes, and the weapons in the game, according to Martin, are inspired by medieval torture instruments.
Where To Play
The game will be available on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC.
When We Can Expect It
Doom: The Dark Ages will be released on 15 May.
