Huawei will soon unveil a low-cost electric car created with SAIC

Huawei is expanding its influence in China's electric vehicle market. The tech giant has joined forces with carmaker SAIC Motor to create a new EV brand, "Shangjie" (尚界). It will be officially unveiled on 10 April.
Here's What We Know
The first Shangjie model is expected to be a mid-size crossover aimed at young people. The price will be 150,000 - 200,000 yuan (20,700 - 27,600 USD). Sales are scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Technically, the car will be based on the existing SAIC platform, which will integrate Huawei technologies such as the ADS autonomous driving system. It is possible that in addition to an all-electric version, the model will get a version with an internal combustion engine acting as a generator (Range Extender).
