Fans of the Mandalorian and the magical Grog received an exclusive portion of fresh impressions at this year's Star Wars Celebration. A private screening of new footage from the upcoming feature film The Mandalorian and Grog was held for selected visitors.

Here's What We Know

The film was presented by star guests: Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and even Grog himself (in the form of an animatronic doll, of course). As a reminder, the start of work on this film project was announced back in January 2024.

The video began with a dynamic scene where the Mandalorian was making his way through stormtroopers on board a ship in the style of the first season of the series, which fans are already familiar with. Next, Sigourney Weaver's character appeared and told Mando categorically: "From now on, you work for us." There were also some of Grog's trademark pranks, as he tried to use the Force to steal food, which Weaver couldn't help but notice.

The new footage also featured moments where Grogu demonstrated his growing strength by using the Force to destroy a droid, and in one scene he even swam. However, the real highlight of the screening was a short teaser at the end, which seemed to introduce an adult Rotta Gutt, a memorable character from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

In addition, judging by the new footage, in at least one scene of the film, the Mandalorian will appear without his iconic helmet, showing the face of Pedro Pascal. The first photos from the private screening have already leaked online.

The Mandalorian and the Grog is scheduled for release on 22 May 2026. The film will be directed by The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau and produced by Lucasfilm Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.
