Oblivion Remastered loses performance over time: Digital Foundry calls for urgent patch

The new remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, despite the enthusiastic feedback from fans of the classic, is facing serious technical problems on all platforms. Digital Foundry experts have found that the game's performance gradually deteriorates during long gaming sessions, which is likely due to a memory leak.
Here's What We Know
After launching Oblivion Remastered on PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, users began to notice a drop in frame rate that became noticeable after 15 minutes of continuous play. Digital Foundry conducted detailed testing and found that the game maintains about 59-60 FPS in a session, but after a while it drops to 45 FPS and below.
In addition, the game has problems with the camera while riding - the viewing angle rises so high that the character and the horse are almost invisible. To avoid this, Digital Foundry recommends restarting the game about every 15 minutes.
Another annoyance is random freezes and crashes in the console menu that occur when loading saves frequently. It has also been noticed that cyclical use of autosaves can cause bugs, such as changing lighting settings, which affects the visual quality of the scene.
Virtuos developers have already released a patch for Xbox that improved stability and performance, but a similar update for PlayStation has not yet appeared.
Players on Reddit have suggested temporary solutions to improve performance, such as disabling autosaves, using manual saves, disabling motion blur, and lowering graphics settings, including reflections. These tips help to reduce FPS drops and avoid frequent crashes.
