After months of rumours, Marvel and Disney have officially confirmed the return of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. The actress, along with Charlie Cox, who will reprise his role of Matt Murdock, appeared on stage at Disney Upfront in New York to share their joy of returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Here's What We Know

Krysten Ritter first embodied the image of Jessica Jones in the Netflix series of the same name, which started in 2015. Over the course of three seasons, she showed a complex portrait of a superhero with superhuman strength who, after an unsuccessful career as a crime fighter, became a private detective in New York. The series, as well as the joint project The Defenders, gained recognition from fans and critics, but eventually Netflix stopped producing Marvel shows.

The turning point was the return of the rights to the characters to Disney in 2021. Since then, Marvel has begun to gradually integrate Netflix characters into its cinematic universe. The first step was the successful release of Daredevil: Born Again, where Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio returned to the roles of Matt Murdock and Kingpin. Now they will be joined by Jessica Jones.

During the presentation, Krysten Ritter admitted that she is very excited to return to her favourite role and the opportunity to play this character again. She hinted that the second season will feature a lot of new and exciting things, without disclosing any plot details.

The second season of the series is expected to air on Disney+ in March 2026.
