Superfamily 3 gets new director - Peter Sohn, who has already worked with Pixar cartoons, will take the helm
The long-awaited Superfamily 3 will be directed by Peter Sohn, known for his work on Elemental and The Good Dinosaur. The previous two instalments of the Pixar franchise were written and directed by Brad Bird. However, Bird will still be part of the team.
Here's What We Know
According to THR, Brad Bird, although not directing the film, will write the script for Incredibles 3 and produce alongside Dana Murray, known for his work on Soul. So Baird's original vision and humour will remain an integral part of the film.
We don't know many other details about The Incredibles 3 at the moment.
It is important to note that Sohn and Byrd have a very long working relationship. Sohn has worked on every previous Byrd animated film, including both Superfamily instalments. Additionally, Sohn has voiced a number of Pixar characters in the past, including Emile from Ratatouille, Squishy from Monsters University, and Sox from Buzz Lightyear.
The Incredibles franchise itself has been around since 2004, with the first film grossing $631 million at the global box office and winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The Incredibles 2 was released in 2018 and grossed $1.24 billion worldwide.
